Arrow Rock Folk Jam, Some sweet music is planned for the Saturday before Labor Day (Sept 4) in Arrow Rock MO. The Historic Arrow Rock Council is sponsoring a FOLK JAM...and we'd like you to come....play music with friends, trade licks and songs...bring instruments, make music all over the village. There will be lots of porches to sit on...chairs, hay bales, a stage with an open microphone...a chance to learn from one another, share music and perform if you want to.
This will be the second year for this fun experience...we met some truly
unique musicians, heard and sang with and played for a very
appreciative audience of musicians and folks gathered just to enjoy the
fun..And made wonderful music all day long.
If you have a group that you enjoy playing and singing with...bring them all...We want to fill this historic village with acoustic folk music...gospel...your own compositions... There are no prizes...no competition...just opportunity to learn and sing and play to your heart's content with other musicians who want to do the same.
At 3:00 p.m. HARC will sponsor a homemade Ice Cream Freezeoff - so if you want to enter that too...bring along a freezer of your best ice cream recipe. All the audience gets to taste each entry (for a $3.00 ticket) then judge the best.
We'll begin the activities around noon...and last til everyone has finished singing, playing at the Old Schoolhouse Community Building on Main Street in Arrow Rock.
Please come...tell your friends to come...bring music!!!! For further information you may contact me at tempej@hotmail.com...or check out our website at arrowrockarts.org. Please send this invitation to any musician friends you'd like to.
Thanks so much...Tempe McGlaughlin, Chair, Arrow Rock Folk JAM
