South Suburban Dulcimer
and Folk Music Society

SSDFMS:
The South Suburban Dulcimer and Folk Music Society is made up of folks with an interest in music who get together to enjoy playing as a group.  Most of our members have no formal music training, and many do not read music but we all have fun!  Whether you are a novice or an accomplished player, we would love to have you come play with us at our monthly meetings, or become a part of our performance group and show off your talent!
Instruments:
While many of our members play either the mountain or hammered dulcimer, we also have members who play a myriad of instruments including: guitar, fiddle, bass, penny whistle, spoons, bowed psaltrey, shaker egg, autoharp and just about anything that will provide a sound!  Most of our tunes are old-time songs or traditional, but we are not averse to playing new tunes in old ways.

Membership:
We promise you an evening of fun, and years of enjoyment when you join our group.  Membership is only $15 per year which includes all the fun you can have playing with us at monthly meetings and practices, access to our extensive library of sheet music and CD collections, and our monthly newsletter.

Hope to hear from you soon!
